Christian Appalachian Project - The
Christian Appalachian Project's Operation Sharing delivered a tractor-trailer load of relief supplies to Pontotoc, Mississippi after a tornado ripped through the small town that sits west of Tupelo. At least five people lost their lives and numerous were left homeless.
Operation Sharing delivered food, water, cleaning supplies and building supplies to a disaster center set up by the Red Cross to aid those in need of assistance. Pontotoc is in the northeast corner of Mississippi, which is also in the Appalachian Region.
In the past six months, Operation Sharing has provided disater relief to three Appalachian states affected by natural catastrophies.
